Statement of Faith
Our statement of faith is derived from Ephesians 4:4-6:
1:
There is one body. That is one church. Jesus is the head. There are not multiple avenues to God. Colossians 1:18, 24b; Matthew 7:13-23
2:
There is one Spirit. Individuals who are baptized for the forgiveness of their sins receive the gift of the Holy Spirit (God's presence living in their life). He helps us to have the character of Christ. John 3:3-5; Acts 2:37-39; Galatians 5:19-25.
3:
There is one hope. We hope and long for Christ's return at which point we receive eternal life - the inheritance of heaven. Titus 2:12-14; 3:3-7
4:
There is one Lord. Jesus is Lord of lords and King of kings. Salvation comes from no one else. Revelation 19:16; Romans 10:9; Acts 4:10-12
5:
There is one faith. It is the Christian faith - belief in Jesus Christ. Galatians 2:16; 3:26-29; John 14:6
6:
There is one baptism. It is the baptism for forgiveness of sins. It is where we contact the grace of God. It is an essential part of the salvation plan. Acts 2:37-39; Romans 6:1-11; Titus 3:3-7; I Peter 3:21; Mark 16:16. The conversions in the book of Acts:
2:37-41; 8:9-13; 8:26-38; 10:1-48; 16:14, 15, 29-34; 18:7, 8; 19:1-5; 22:12-16
